Publishing in Soil Science

"Publishing in soil science - Historical developments and current trends" was published in 2002 and the book consists of a series of my articles with several co-authors. The articles were published in Geoderma, Advances in Agronomy, Outlook in Agriculture and the IUSS Bulletin. The foreword is by Prof. Winfried Blum (IUSS Secretary General from 1990-2002).

The book analyses trends and developments in scientific publishing and chapters focus on historical developments, impact factors, the price of journals, ethics and fraud, electronic publishing, the pleasures of writing, and differences between the tropical and temperate regions. A detailed case study on developments in the soil science journal Geoderma is included.

Some reviews
